What is Gen-Y?
Gen-Y stands for Generation Y. Gen-Y is the group of people born between the years of
1979 and 1994. They are approximately between the ages of 11 and 26 and is about 70
million people strong.
What makes Gen-Y so special?
The first wave of Gen-Y have just been introduced into the workplace and is already making
an impact. Entering with high expectations of themselves as well as their employers, many
Gen-Y members are finding the workplace a frustrating place to be. Many are jumping from
job to job in search of the right "fit" and "work-life balance" only to be met with disappointment. As a result, many Gen-Y members are resulting to starting their own businesses and
becoming their own boss.
